Magnificent. Best spaghetti Cacio de Pepe ever. Service  was fantastic. Affordable and great location.

PLEASE READ!!!!! ZERO STARS. TERRIBLE SERVICE. SCAMMERS. RAPEY!!!

Worst place I've ever been to. The country of Italy and all of its people should be ashamed of this place and shut it down as soon as possible. The staff absolutely sucks and scammed us so badly. Gave us a cheap bottle of wine when I all I ordered was one glass of wine, then insisted it wasn't an extra charge. Made us pay double for it and when I paid, the waiter wouldn't give me my change! He put it in his tip jar! They take advantage of everyone who comes in and not just by scamming them. The waiter followed me to the bathroom and then tried to kiss me. I had to push him off of me with all my strength and run back to my table. WORST PLACE EVER!!!!!!

Was looking for another restaurant nearby, but it was closed for holiday, and the waiter out front of Il Lucano stopped us to come in. We were going to keep looking, but a combination of hunger, location, and available euros brought us back.

Quickly sat, immediately waited on, wine before I could finish saying the word.

We asked for bruschetta to start and the waiter brought us a variety, most of which I wouldn't have otherwise chosen but glad he did, it was fun to try something new (even though we asked for one and were brought/charged for two).

Asked for a recommendation and he suggested two traditional Lucano pastas that were very satisfying, especially with how hungry we were.

I don't understand all the one star reviews but this place is definitely worth a try! I'd say we'd be back but we only scratched the surface of places to eat, though I'm happy to recommend this to anyone who finds themselves in the area!

Rudest service we have had in Rome. The people who ran it stalked us because we left to a nicer restaurant across the street.
(Why is zero stars not an option?)

This place is disgusting. Made the mistake of having lunch here without doing any research since it seemed reasonably busy as we walked by.  Instead I ended up not eating anything we ordered.  The Caprese salad mozzarella was hard.  The Lamb chops smelled and were mostly fat.  Couldn't wait to get the check and get out of there.  The server was very nice and tried to make it up to us. But at that point I was so grossed out I couldn't wait to leave.  Worst meal in Rome ever.  And I lived here for a few years.
